Burnham, Buckinghamshire, High Street c1912

Burnham, Buckinghamshire, High Street circa 1912. Apart from the obvious traffic, the view has changed little in the last century. The building on the right hand side of the picture is the old fire station. The shop on the far left is the post office, run by S. Rhys Williams.
Postcard by W. H. Applebee of Ashford. Click the postcard to enlarge.

  1. A wonderful card and a rare place to have preserved so much of the original street. I like the idea that the card was sold and posted at the KODAKS shop.

  3. A wonderful street view and one that makes me wish I could travel back and visit (just for a short time).
